We have all heard about the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which offers a discount to diners from 3rd to the 31st August, 2020, in order to encourage more people to visit and eat at your establishment and encourage them to visit at less busy times:
• all day, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 to 31 August 2020
• 50% discount, to a maximum of £10 per person, for food or non-alcoholic drinks
• claim the money back from the government
There is no limit to the number of times customers can use the offer during the period of the scheme
You can register for the scheme if you:
• sell food for immediate consumption on the premises
• provide your own dining area or share a dining area with another establishment
• were registered as a food business with the relevant local authority on or before 7 July
You cannot register:
• an establishment that only offers takeaway food or drink
• catering services for private functions
• a hotel that provides room service only

• mobile food vans or trailers
To set up you need to register here and you will need a Government Gateway user ID and password for your business. If you do not have one, you can create one when you register.
Make sure to read the above link as it contains further information on the scheme such as when you can start offering the discount and the records you need to keep amongst other important information.
